  • Overview

    Assist in creating and executing communications plans that tell the story of why Esri GIS matters. An understanding of Esri solutions and how they help customers across industry provide guidance and feedback on communications strategies for the company as a whole is critical to your success in this position. 


    • Assist in creation and management of communication plans for events and campaigns across the organization
    • Write press releases and other communication documents
    • Help set up and coordinate press interviews at Esri and during events, including finding appropriate experts and interview subjects at Esri and in the user community
    • Communicate with press as required
    • Represent Esri PR at events and initiatives
    • Maintain relationships with key media, bloggers, and influencers
    • Liaise with other groups across Esri to create effective, holistic communications plans, including programs, events, advertising, industry, international, product marketing, and product development


    • 3-5+ years of experience working in public relations
    • Experience in journalist style writing and storytelling
    • Ability to multi-task, working on multiple projects at a time and to tight deadlines
    • Strong initiative-taking and problem-solving skills
    • Highly organized, energetic, and detail-oriented
    • Bachelor’s or higher in communications, marketing, journalism, or English

    Recommended Qualifications:

    • Understanding of GIS, mapping, and location analytics
    • Understanding of Esri’s technology, products, and services
