  • Overview

    Use your communication skills and technical capability to develop and manage content on Esri Support sites and information channels including,, GeoNet, and Salesforce Knowledge. In this role, you will be responsible for the promotion and publication of content by understanding customer needs, guiding content development, copy editing, gathering and analyzing metrics, and delivering training for content management tools and documentation best practices.



    • Work with subject matter experts and content developers to develop and publish technical articles
    • Copy edit, with a focus on effective communication of complex topics; relevancy to customer issues; and grammar, formatting, and established styles and standards
    • Continuously evaluate, advocate, and promote the value of technical articles, the GIS wiki, and other public and internal content by identifying and developing useful topics
    • Perform administrative and maintenance tasks on various social media channels
    • Generate reports on content volume, technology, author and editor contribution, page views, etc.
    • Collect and analyze feedback generated from various online sources, respond, and take corrective action as needed
    • Assume point-of-contact tasks and communications with on- and offshore content contributors and reviewers for questions and guidance related to publishing workflows and content maintenance
    • Promote the progress of the Online Support Resource program by assisting with various content-related activities when requested by management
    • Develop training materials and deliver onboarding and ongoing training for tool use, writing and reviewing best practices, and topic selection


    • Demonstrated ability to copy edit and maintain online technical content
    • Familiarity with the standards of technical writing, copy editing, and proofreading
    • Ability to write and edit general business documentation, such as reports, email campaigns, proposals, and templates
    • Ability to identify and develop topics with attention to customer needs and technology trends
    • Experience and ease working with subject matter experts to develop and publish content
    • Ability to learn new technical and/or communication skills and apply them to assist content contributors, editors, and customers
    • Ability to follow directions and/or standard operating procedures and perform additional tasks as required by management and/or team activities
    • Good interpersonal communication skills
    • Ability to multi-task, work proactively and independently, and collaborate effectively associated teams and stakeholders
    • Bachelor’s in GIS, geography, geology or computer science with emphasis in writing and editing; communications; or English, journalism, or communications with a thorough understanding of GIS theory and application, or equivalent work experience

    Recommended Qualifications:

    • Experience working with customer service or support organizations
    • Ease in delivering scheduled presentations to small groups
