  • Overview

    Are you an energetic, passionate technical writer who has the desire to inspire, support, and advocate for our platform’s developers? Blend your passion for writing and interest in cutting-edge technology to advance developer-focused documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise. In this position, you’ll have a hand in the developer’s success by working with teams to improve our online and installed help documentation.


    Responsibilities:

    • Write conceptual topics, product documentation, tutorials, and blog posts
    • Help define, organize, and update website content and its architecture
    • Evolve software documentation by turning specifications and design documents into product documentation
    • Establish and define customer requirements; translate them into potential site improvements
    • As a developer advocate, you’ll work closely with developers and product engineers to create, update, and maintain product documentation and answer questions about developing for the ArcGIS platform
    • Coordinate ArcGIS Enterprise developer (REST and SDK) documentation for each documentation release
    • Coordinate with contributors for common features and topics in ArcGIS Enterprise and ArcGIS Online

    Requirements

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
    • Familiarity with ArcGIS Enterprise and REST API technologies
    • Effective time management and organizational skills
    • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
    • An understanding of documentation workflows that use HTML, CSS, DITA, and HTML
    • Familiarity with Java or .NET platforms
    • Bachelor’s or master’s in GIS, computer science, technical writing, or a related field, depending on position level
    Recommended Qualifications:
    • Extensive experience with ArcGIS software or other geospatial technology
    • Experience with large-scale product documentation efforts
    • Demonstrated experience with modern website development practices
