  • Overview

    Utilize your GIS education and industry experience to test and influence ArcGIS Utility Network Management for the next generation of Esri software. This is an exciting opportunity to work with Esri customers and our development team to test real user workflows and datasets, collect feedback, and deliver requirements to our software development teams to help build new software and plan for future releases.



    • Support and maintain the general framework of databases used in the Holistic Lab including configuration of ArcGIS Utility Network Management on multiple database platforms 
    • Perform and coordinate testing, analysis, investigation, and identification of software problems
    • Support internal and external customers to understand and test their organizational workflows and industry-specific goals
    • Build and grow relationships with software development teams to identify, prioritize, and ensure key issues are fixed for a release
    • Participate in the release of high quality software; certify the overall quality of the system and ensure each release is ready to ship
    • Influence product design, functionality, and usability across the entire ArcGIS platform as well as focused areas
    • Attend relevant conferences and visit user sites to understand and apply user workflows into our testing environment


    • Demonstrated experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS) including Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL
    • Familiarity with database administration tasks such as performing backups and restores, creating users, configuration and tuning, and diagnostic tracing
    • Hands-on software testing or development experience with large scale GIS systems or client-server desktop, web, or mobile applications 
    • Knowledge of cloud technology such as Amazon Web Services (AWS)
    • Ability to work with a team or individually in a constantly challenging and evolving environment
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills
    • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer information systems, computer science, engineering, or another technical field 

    Recommended Qualifications

    • Knowledge of ArcGIS Pro, Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS, Collector for ArcGIS, ArcGIS GeoEvent Server, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Business Analyst, and mobile application usage related to GIS
    • Experience in the utility or telecom industries using ArcGIS software 
    • Enthusiasm and driven to learn and understand all aspects of the Esri suite of products
    • Demonstrated ability to organize and work on multiple concurrent projects
