  • Overview

    Apply your creativity and analytical skills to help our Software Products team design, build, and test ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Image Server, and ArcGIS Online. In this role, you will work with software developers and product engineers to build modern web applications and Web GIS user experiences. More specifically, you will focus on web applications and user experiences which allow users to effectively work with satellite, aerial, and drone imagery. This is an exciting opportunity to develop your web application development and testing skills. As a Web GIS Product Engineer, you will exercise your skills in designing simple and easy to use web applications. In addition, you will help develop automated unit tests and code samples for the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and the ArcGIS Image Server REST API.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, develop, and test web applications which allow users to visualize and process satellite, aerial, and drone imagery
    • Design, develop, and automate testing of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript and ArcGIS Image Server REST API
    • Design image processing models and raster analysis models which can be used to validate these web applications
    • Execute and analyze daily test results and report daily quality status
    • Design and develop code samples and sample web applications which can be used in the ArcGIS documentation and/or also shared on GitHub

    Requirements

    • Extensive classroom or project work building web applications
    • Intermediate knowledge of JavaScript/HTML/CSS
    • Excellent development and test engineering skills
    • Passion for developing great web user experiences
    • Desire to focus on and overcome the human interaction challenges web applications present
    • Desire and ability to learn new skills and contribute to producing quality commercial software
    • Excellent problem-solving skills
    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, GIS, or related field


    Recommended Qualifications

    • 1 to 3 years web application development using JavaScript/HTML/CSS
    • 1 to 3 years systems integration or test engineering experience
    • Basic knowledge of GIS and Remote Sensing
    • Basic understanding of image processing or GIS raster processing
    • Hands-on experience with ArcGIS Online a plus
    • Hands-on experience with satellite, aerial, or drone imagery a plus
