    At the Esri R&D Center-Zurich, we develop CityEngine software as well as Esri’s core 3D web technologies and invest heavily in VR and game engine technologies. Join our team of exceptional software engineers to create tomorrow’s GIS and urban planning applications with high-end rendering and previously unseen interaction capabilities.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Implement large-scale, interactive visualization scenarios using game engines, ranging from handling massive geometry to low-level shader programming
    • Design and implement VR integration and interaction
    • Implement custom game engine features and rendering techniques and state-of-the-art graphics effects
    • Integrate proprietary geospatial data streaming and geometry processing libraries
    • Research and push the state-of-the-art in virtual world rendering for photo-realistic and data visualization purposes
    • Apply and promote good software engineering practices such as test automation, modularization, simplification

    Requirements

    • 2+ years of practical software development experience in the field of 3D computer graphics
    • Excellent programming skills, preferably C++
    • Excellent knowledge of computer graphics and game engine programming (Unreal and/or Unity)
    • Solid knowledge of virtual reality: integration, rendering, interaction
    • Experience with agile software development methodologies (Scrum, etc.)
    • Familiarity with 3D modeling and animation tools (Maya, Blender, etc.)
    • Familiarity with GIS applications and technologies, ideally ArcGIS
    • Knowledge of common web technologies and 3D formats
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment with frequent releases and tight schedules
    • Excellent creative thinking and communication skills
    • Excellent leadership skills (for senior position)
    • Master’s or PhD in computer science with a focus on computer graphics or visualization
    • Authorized to work in Switzerland
