Utilize your experience in US government security management in this critical role of conducting security operations in accordance with NISPOM, ICD, and other government regulations. This is a challenging role in which you will coordinate frequently with US government counterparts and work closely with other security team members.


  • Support both collateral level security programs and special access programs
  • Provide day-to-day security execution of a wide variety of security operations including personnel clearance processing (noms, tracking, indocs, reporting, debriefs); daily use of personnel clearance data systems (JPAS and Access Commander); classified materials receipt, logging, control, and dissemination; physical security operations (alarm call-list, new construction); participate in inspections and audits; and support certification and accreditation of facilities
  • Guide employees in the use of the DSS e-QIP including professional review of form SF86 prior to submission 
  • Create and update security plans, procedures, and instructions 
  • Enhance and participate in an active security awareness and education program 
  • Maintain and coordinate excellent working relationships with government agencies 
  • Assure compliance with all government and company security regulations


  • Possess and maintain an active Top Secret security clearance with recent Single-scope Background Investigation (SSBI) 
  • 4+ years of experience in security operations in the US government, DoD, intelligence, and/or industrial security contractor communities 
  • Working knowledge of the NISPOM and associated Executive Orders 
  • Significant experience with the DSS Joint Personnel Adjudication System (JPAS) 
  • Knowledge of OPSEC procedures and application of OPSEC to Sensitive But Unclassified (SBU) information 
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications 
  • Excellent interpersonal and written and verbal communication skills 
  • Bachelor’s in a field related to security or information systems

Recommended Qualifications

  • 2+ years of experience as an FSO, assistant FSO, or industrial security specialist with associated training and credentials including a combination of the following DSS STEPP courses: FSO role in the NISP, DSS Electronic Facility Clearance, personnel clearances in the NISP, JPAS/JCAVS virtual training, NISP reporting requirements, visits and meetings in the NISP, safeguarding classified information in the NISP 
  • Relevant professional organizational involvement (NCMS, ISAC, ISWG, or other) 
  • Experience using Access Commander software
