  • Overview

    Join the Esri Creative Lab to help design our web-based apps for the field and back office. We are a group of user-centered designers working closely with the Chief Creative Officer and Product Development. Our vision is to advance Esri’s user experience so that we can extend the reach and utilization of location-based technology to all humans.

     

    Our ideal candidate is driven to find the next big challenge for their web design career while helping to keep our software products aesthetically compelling, responsive, accessible, and usable.

    Responsibilities:

    • Work alongside other designers and developers to craft pixel perfect UI designs
    • Leverage and contribute to our web framework
    • Help pioneer and evangelize good product design at Esri, activating the design sense of those around you through design leadership and service
    • Translate wireframes and interaction designs into finished UI comps and prototypes
    • Contribute to UX/UI consistency across our product stack
    • Stay sharp on web design and technology trends

    Portfolio Submission


    Please include a link to your online portfolio or samples of recent work. Samples must demonstrate design skills and a mix of low fidelity and high fidelity UI deliverables.

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of experience designing interfaces for web-based products, including responsive design
    • HTML/CSS/JS coding skills, or conceptual mastery of these at the minimum
    • Team-oriented approach to design, with demonstrated experience thriving in a collaborative and iterative work environment
    • Demonstrated ability designing for users on multiple form factors
    • Strong attention to detail, with an aesthetic sensibility that requires minimal art direction
    • Bachelor's in graphic design, human factors, interaction design, communications, or a related field

    Recommended Qualifications:

    • Hands-on experience designing with and for UI frameworks
    • Practical knowledge of the scrum/agile methodology and processes
    • Knowledge and proficiency in ArcGIS, geography, and/or other Esri-related topics
    • Expert level ability using Sketch and Invision
    • Experience designing for enterprise
