  • Overview

    Join the Esri Creative Lab to redesign our web-based location platform, ArcGIS Online. We are a group of user-centered designers working closely with the Chief Creative Officer and Product Development. Our vision is to advance Esri’s user experience so that we can extend the reach and utilization of location-based technology to all humans.

     

    Our ideal candidate is driven to find the next big challenge for their web design career while helping to keep our software products compelling, responsive, accessible, and usable.


    Responsibilities

    • Create interaction designs, workflow diagrams, wireframes, and interactive prototypes for new features and enhancements
    • Help pioneer and evangelize good product design at Esri, activating the design sense of those around you through design leadership and service
    • Contribute to ensure UX/UI consistency across our product stack
    • Stay sharp on web design and technology trends
    • Invest time in building "consensus by design" in order to move projects forward
    • Usability testing preparation and facilitation of active design work
    • Gather and validate incoming requirements

    Portfolio Submission


    Please include a link to your online portfolio or samples of recent work. Samples must demonstrate design skills and a mix of low fidelity and high fidelity UX deliverables, as well as your process.

    Requirements

    • 3-5 years of experience designing UX for digital products
    • Team-oriented approach to design with demonstrated experience thriving in a collaborative and iterative work environment
    • Demonstrated ability designing for users on multiple form factors
    • Bachelor's in human factors, interaction design, psychology, or a related field 

    Recommended Qualifications

    • Hands-on experience designing with UI frameworks
    • HTML/CSS/JS coding skills or conceptual understanding of them
    • Knowledge and proficiency in ArcGIS, geography, and/or other Esri-related topics
    • Experience using Sketch and Invision
    • Experience designing enterprise software
    • Knowledge of what it takes to design accessible software
    • Great presentation skills
    • Ability to track multiple projects at a time with competing priorities
