Put these qualities to work as a solution engineer, where you’ll have the opportunity to provide insight and help shape and deliver strategies to customers on the effective adoption, integration, and use of Esri’s ArcGIS platform.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Participate as a core member of the sales team in the execution of the sales process
  • Be the technical expert on Esri’s complete ArcGIS platform
  • Use your experience supporting customers in the intel domain, or develop expertise in this area, to assist account managers with technical presentations, demonstrations, prototypes, and other interactions that show the benefits of applying the ArcGIS platform to solve problems
  • Proactively craft and propose solutions that clarify how ArcGIS brings business value to successfully address critical business challenges faced by customers
  • Define and deliver platform strategies to customers that align Esri’s platform with their business needs
  • Provide platform configuration guidance and best practices to customers
  • Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to staff at all levels of the chain-of-command in a diverse range of defense customer organizations

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with system engineering/system architecture within DoD/intel environments
  • 2+ years of experience with the ArcGIS platform using editing and imagery tools, performing spatial analysis, and creating geodatabases
  • US citizenship and ability and willingness to obtain a security clearance 
  • Familiarity with sales and business development processes
  • Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design using a geographic information system
  • 5+ years of related technology experience
  • Experience with DBMS technology such as SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, and Access
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts in addition to on-premise solutions
  • Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing, BI, CRM, ERP, and analytics platforms
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal communications, and listening skills
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a small, highly-skilled team of technical staff on a pre-sales team
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in GIS, geography, computer science, or a related field 

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Constant desire to learn and apply new technology
  • Experience in deployment or implementation of ArcGIS Enterprise and Portal for ArcGIS
  • Experience in implementing processes for accreditation and security and using PKI and other security certifications in DoD IT environments
  • Demonstrated knowledge of programming and scripting experience with .NET, Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, Flex, and/or Silverlight, iOS, Android, HTML5 and other applicable development experience
  • Experience participating in developer events (hackathon, hackfest, codefest, etc.)
  • Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture based on the ArcGIS platform
  • Experience promoting software products and/or applications
  • Experience designing and delivering mobile or location-based business applications
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise web applications or other web application development
  • Experience presenting GIS-based business solutions to executive audiences
  • Domain knowledge in the defense industry
