Esri Corporate Library seeks an enthusiastic intern with cataloging and archiving skills to join our dynamic library team!



  • With guidance from library staff, identify, evaluate, catalog and archive historical Esri materials
  • Use your knowledge of library cataloging standards to add appropriate content to the library collection
  • Create original metadata for citations and abstracts for GIS scholarly materials
  • Conduct research and online article retrieval for Esri employees
  • Assist in the creation of a controlled vocabulary reference tool

Program Timeline

  • Applications Accepted: September 1–December 31, 2017 at 5:00 pm PST
  • Interviews: Students selected for phone interviews will be notified by email on a rolling basis October 2017–January 2018
  • Internship: 12 weeks starting in late May or June

  • Currently enrolled in an MLIS graduate program or will graduate from an MLIS graduate program in Spring 2018
  • Have completed at least one and preferably two MLS–level cataloging courses
  • Cataloging/bibliographic skills
  • Excellent spelling and typing skills
  • Desire to work within a team environment
  • Self–motivated

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Digital asset management/digital rights management/digital copyright expertise
  • Familiarity with concepts of GIS
