Imagery can contain vast amounts of information that can be exploited and used in many ways. We are looking for a imagery specialist to use remote sensing knowledge and skills to develop new workflows and solutions. We would like to hear from you if you are interested in improving and expanding new techniques for processing imagery in GIS. You will use your insight, creativity, and technical expertise to design and implement imagery workflows.


Spatial analysis and data visualization, coupled with strong communication skills, are necessary to succeed in this role. Your contributions will drive our company and our users to new levels of insight through Esri technology. As an expert in both remote sensing and ArcGIS technology, you will help ensure our customers use best practices to work with imagery in the ArcGIS platform.



  • Help define and collect raster user requirements
  • Leverage domain expertise to help build the best solutions
  • Communicate requirements, design decisions, and status between product management and the product development teams
  • Design, build, and test workflow for use of imagery.
  • Participate in using ArcGIS to build online imagery content
  • Lead development and maintenance of automated test procedures to ensure software quality
  • Test and document raster functionality
  • Support the ArcGIS user community


  • Familiarity with various image formats and image products
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills and proven ability to work in teams
  • Proficient and knowledgeable in the areas of remote sensing and imagery, as well as with Esri products
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, remote sensing, or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with ArcGIS raster concepts (mosaic datasets)
  • Hands-on experience working with or building imagery products (mosaics)
  • Image analysis experience (exploitation, report preparation, map preparation)
  • Image processing experience (classification, feature extraction, anomaly detection, atmospheric correction)
  • Knowledge of big data and cloud technologies
  • Familiarity with a programming language (.NET/C#/Python)
