Overview

Provide vision and leadership while promoting the use of Esri technology to enable customer success and support development and growth into multiple domains. Working closely with industry experts throughout the company, you'll provide guidance in defining the type and extent of services required to make Esri’s customers successful.


The Technical Consulting Program provides short-term, high-impact services that empower rapid productivity and promote self-sufficiency in Esri’s customers. These services consist of support in application development, installation and configuration, performance and scalability, data management, operations, and design.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with professional services practice leads and industry sales leads throughout Esri to communicate and collaborate on technical consulting capabilities and coordinate services support
  • Act as a liaison between Esri industry leaders and a network of services teams located throughout the United States 
  • Work with Business Development and Marketing on sales campaigns to promote technical consulting to different industries 
  • Prepare and present high-quality business and technical-related documentation
  • Monitor active consulting engagements and in-progress opportunities to anticipate trends, identify resource constraints, and proactively mitigate potential obstacles 
  • Manage service engagements through the entire lifecycle by developing new business opportunities, qualifying customer needs, writing proposals, managing consultants, and maintaining relationships with customers
  • Manage multiple opportunities, engagements, and strategic initiatives simultaneously 
  • Support Esri’s Programs and Business Development departments on strategic initiatives

Requirements

  • 6+ years of experience focused on business development or the delivery of technical solutions utilizing Esri-related technology
  • Familiarity with the implementation and/or administration of the ArcGIS platform 
  • Practical experience with Esri’s platform, including ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Desktop, and ArcGIS Online 
  • Excellence in proposal management including preparing executive summaries, solution definition, scope of services, staffing, and pricing
  • Ability to consult and engage with executive level leadership
  • Ability to determine appropriate services based on customer business requirements
  • Experience with creating project plans and guiding teams through successful project execution
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication, presentation, and leadership skills
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical ideas to non-technical individuals
  • Bachelor’s in GIS, computer science, business administration, or software engineering, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Experience applying or promoting GIS in the local government or commercial sectors as a member of a sales, services, or marketing organization
  • Experience in the design, development, implementation, and/or administration of ArcGIS solutions or equivalent technology 
  • Experience collaborating with and coordinating technical resources 
  • Ability to lead and manage small project teams, including consultants and software developers
  • Knowledge and experience with software engineering and/or robust application development principles and practices
