Overview

Put these qualities to work as a solution engineer, where you’ll have the opportunity to provide insight and help shape and deliver strategies to customers on the effective adoption and use of Esri’s ArcGIS platform in the European national security and public safety domain.

 

Responsibilities

  • Participate as a core member of the Esri European national government account team in the execution of the sales process directly in Europe and indirectly through our distributors and partners
  • Be the technical expert of Esri’s complete platform
  • Become an ArcGIS subject matter expert in the national security and public safety industry
  • Proactively craft and propose solutions that clarify how GIS brings business value to address critical business challenges faced by national security and public safety customers
  • Define and deliver platform strategies to customers that align Esri’s platform with their business
  • Provide platform configuration guidance and best practices to customers
  • Present complex GIS technical demonstrations to various levels of staff in a diverse range of national security and public safety customer organizations
  • Provide technical advice and solution support to NATO
  • Help Esri distributors develop their national security and public safety technical expertise

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a small, highly-skilled team
  • 5+ years of experience with the ArcGIS platform using editing tools, performing spatial analysis, and creating geodatabases
  • Technical experience and familiarity within the national security and public safety domain
  • Familiarity with sales and business development processes
  • Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design
  • 5+ years of related technology experience
  • Experience with DBMS technology such as SQL Server, DB2, Oracle, and Access
  • Familiarity with cloud computing concepts including on-premises solutions
  • Experience integrating software solutions with other business systems including data warehousing and analytics platforms
  • Excellent presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Experience presenting GIS-based business solutions to executive audiences
  • Excellent English (verbal and written)
  • Be based out of the Esri Europe offices in Rotterdam, NL or Aylesbury, UK
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout Europe with occasional travel to the US
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Ability to troubleshoot client issues related to Esri application deployment and system architecture
  • Experience promoting software products and/or applications
  • Experience designing and delivering mobile or location-based business applications
  • Some programming and scripting experience with .NET, Java, C++, Python, JavaScript, Flex, and/or Silverlight, iOS, Android, L5
  • Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise web applications or other web application development
  • Ability to communicate in other European languages
