As product engineers on the Solutions Team, we use our passion for GIS to build industry-specific maps and applications that solve common government needs. As part of our team, you will drive results and deliver powerful solutions while developing relationships and growing your industry expertise. Your contributions will make organizations more efficient and help drive change within government by equipping decision makers with solutions that address their strategic needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with innovative customers and industry experts across the globe to define how ArcGIS and location-based data can be leveraged in government organizations
  • Configure industry-specific ArcGIS applications and tools that provide users with innovative solutions to address their needs
  • Gather feedback from existing ArcGIS users and use that feedback to drive future solution offerings
  • Collaborate across Esri teams to define solution products and applications
  • Participate in product development and design to ensure solutions are simple to use and deliver a well-defined user experience
  • Continually assess product quality and release readiness by testing and certifying solutions 
  • Define functionality and processes in user documentation and tutorials

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience using and implementing ArcGIS
  • Strong analytical skills as well as the ability to decipher complex problems and perform root cause analyses of technical issues
  • Scripting experience (JavaScript, Python, or other high level languages)
  • A commitment to quality and a positive user experience
  • A motivation to set and meet ambitious deadlines
  • Strong communication skills 
  • Bachelor's in GIS, computer science, or a related field, depending on position level 

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Business process analysis
  • Industry knowledge or experience in emergency management or state or local government
  • Knowledge of the Agile methodology and continuous software delivery
  • Experience in a product testing or consulting environment
  • Experience bringing GIS and users together for an immersive experience
