Overview

The geocoding team is looking for an energetic, motivated, and detail-oriented software engineer who wants to build software, support critical workflows, and work with clients and partners to ensure success. If this sounds like you, consider this position where you can help design the next generation of geocoding for the ArcGIS platform.


Responsibilities:

  • Work with Esri's global community to understand their geocoding and geosearch requirements to ensure we build the best platform supporting their work
  • Evaluate geocoding quality and formulate approaches for improving it
  • Create new testing workflows and prototypes to streamline the development process
  • Collaborate with software developers to implement software fixes and new functionality in the ArcGIS platform
  • Socialize our work through presentations, webinars, forums, and blogs
  • Perform software requirements analysis and author design documents

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience working with geocoding
  • 5+ years of software testing or design experience
  • Experience working with address data and an understanding of global address formats
  • Ability to manage priorities and tasks as needed in a fast-paced work environment
  • A keen attention to detail and drive to resolve any issues encountered
  • Bachelor's, master’s, or Ph.D. in computer science, GIS, or related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience working with C#, C++, Python, or SQL
  • Experience with continuous integration workflows and software such as Jenkins
  • Experience working with relational databases
  • Knowledge of Esri products or similar GIS or spatial software
  • Prior experience with software development and release of commercial software products
  • Experience with Agile software development using Scrum
