  • Overview

    Do you want to create innovative web and mobile applications? Do you want the ability to enable thousands, and potentially millions, to create and consume sophisticated, geography-based multimedia narratives? As a Story Map Developer at Esri, you will build on the success of a highly-motivated team, collaborate to enhance existing apps, develop new storytelling apps and user experiences, and integrate a suite of apps into a unified program.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate on design and development of focused, storytelling web apps serving a broad range of users
    • Develop responsive and intuitive user interfaces for mobile, tablet, and desktop
    • Develop reusable components and document technical guidelines, processes, and best practices
    • Collaborate with product engineers and UI/UXP designers
    • Help extend the ArcGIS platform to serve new, broader audiences
    • Evolve JavaScript skills by staying current with complementary programming languages, development methodologies, and user interface design techniques

    Requirements

    • Two or more years of commercial software development experience
    • Proficiency with front end development technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, etc.
    • A commitment to excellent user experience and interface design
    • Effective time management, organizational, and collaborative skills
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    • Bachelor’s in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field, depending on position level (master’s preferred)

    Recommended Qualifications:

    • Experience with the following technologies: Ember, Bootstrap, ArcGIS API for JavaScript, SCSS, Grunt, NodeJS, Git
    • Experience writing tests for web applications
    • Experience with Agile methodology and continuous software delivery
