Overview

We invite you to join a small team focused on enabling educators to prepare their students with the tools needed to teach the next generation! Our Learn ArcGIS team is developing a global education and enablement strategy to help change the way GIS technology is taught. You understand how teachers teach and how students learn--leverage this to influence and support educational partnerships and help build our global network of educators.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Unite efforts of colleagues to deliver the best possible learning experiences for educators
  • Ensure content, delivery, and interactions are easily accessible, immediately useable, and have long-term value to educators and their students
  • Present educators with content and context to use geographic ideas and technology in formal and informal teaching and learning situations
  • Support content creation by participating in developing, writing, reviewing, and presenting materials
  • Manage a variety of educational partnerships that range from teacher, school, and district support to balancing large-scale educational relationships and collaboration
  • Build a global network of educators by making connections and building relationships with educators worldwide to foster the development of an educator community for active participation, support, sharing, collaboration, and contribution with Esri and with each other

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with geography/GIS educational materials
  • Experience supporting face-to-face and distance learners
  • Familiarity with learning management systems
  • Relevant experience using current GIS technology and leveraging the full ArcGIS suite of tools; specifically, deploying, and managing ArcGIS Online organizations at scale
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally
  • Effective presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Bachelor’s or master’s in geography, computer science, or a STEM related field, depending on position level

Recommended Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of instructional design or pedagogy
  • Experience teaching and developing educational content for children and adults
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Windows, Word, PowerPoint), TechSmith Camtasia
  • Experience with web-based meeting tools
  • Effective technical writing
