    Are you a highly skilled IT professional looking for a challenging position with a variety of responsibilities? We have an opening that will allow you to utilize your technical expertise in a fast-paced environment.

     

    You will be part of a team responsible for the architecting, development, and deployment of both public and private cloud environments. As a team member, you are expected to work collaboratively with development and operations teams to execute on the road map, technology stack, scalability, security, and performance of the platform. Additional responsibilities include developing and coding deployment pipelines, system performance tuning, and general maintenance. You will also be responsible for monitoring systems and services and planning for upgrades and future expansion.


    Responsibilities:

    • In collaboration with software engineering teams, build a DevSecOps culture to empower development teams to operate in an agile manner while ensuring cloud operations are not at risk
    • Provide support, troubleshooting, and design for our hybrid cloud environment as well as general system administration
    • Perform operating system administration for local and remote systems including installation, software patch, system security, data backup, and problem analysis
    • Determine technical standards and specifications; lead the design, build, and support of cloud platform components
    • Review current architectural landscape and make appropriate recommendations
    • Leverage experience in cloud environments to provide leadership and guidance for operational support teams
    • Help team in efforts to continually optimize the operational support process and improve the customer experience
    • Make recommendations and/or participate in system architecture and design
    • Collaborate with IT teams to define and develop documented policies, procedures, and processes such as operational run books and system monitoring
    • Make presentations to executive team, customers, client audiences, and professional peers
    • Be on call on a rotational basis to support essential business clients and emergency situations
    • Provide purchase justifications and project benefit analysis
    • Automate repeatable tasks
    • Build deployment pipelines using Jenkins

    Requirements

    • 5+ years of cloud administration and system administration experience
    • Advanced knowledge of Amazon Web Services and its major components (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, IAM, etc.)
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure Cloud Services
    • Knowledge of extending VMware capabilities to public clouds
    • Advanced level knowledge of Windows Server and Linux administration
    • Operational knowledge of containers, Docker, and Kubernetes
    • Experience in one or more scripting languages such as PowerShell, Python, or JavaScript
    • Experience with Cloud Formation and Terraform
    • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible
    • Familiarity with AWS CLI
    • Solid understanding of microservices and service-oriented architecture (SOA)
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively with management
    • Capable of writing proposals, procedures, policies, and technical documentation
    • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field, or equivalent work experience

    Recommended Qualifications:

    • Certification in AWS, VMware, MS (MCSE), Linux
    • Hardware experience: Dell, Cisco, NetApp
    • Experience in vendor product evaluation (hardware, software, service providers)
    • Working knowledge and hands-on experience working with VMware in a large enterprise environment (vRA, vSAN, vROps, vCenter, vSphere, vCO)
