  • Overview

    Use your extensive IT experience providing technical expertise to business colleagues to help grow relationships and manage client expectations while supporting customer-facing applications. In this role, you will drive innovation by working closely with various teams to plan, direct, and coordinate technology projects, delivering solutions that meet and often exceed expectations. This is a great opportunity to learn on the job and explore new technologies with little supervision.

    Responsibilities:

    • Plan, design, implement, and support advanced IT solutions that enable Esri to leverage new technologies enhancing productivity, reliability, and performance
    • Provide escalated support services, working with application developers to resolve complex issues on our core applications/systems; this may include system architecture, design, capacity planning, and problem management
    • Support daily operations of applications hosted on various web server technologies (.NET, Java) in multiple OS and platforms, in both virtual and cloud environments
    • Leverage scripting to support the day-to-day operations for job processing, log analysis, and application automation on an ad hoc basis
    • Support application deployments, building new systems and upgrading and patching existing systems
    • Create and maintain documentation for all servers, applications, tools, scripts, and procedures
    • Be available on-call as needed with participation in 24x7 support
    • Be able to quickly prioritize and handle multiple issues

    Requirements

    • 2+ years of system operations and application administration experience
    • Experience supporting cloud environments (AWS, Azure, Google, etc.)
    • Experience with a scripting language (Perl, PowerShell, Python, PHP, etc.) and their use in automating configuration management for operational tasks
    • Experience administering operating systems (Windows 2000-2012, Red Hat Linux, AIX)
    • Experience with monitoring and performance tuning; strong troubleshooting skills
    • Highly organized; able to handle day-to-day operations while answering colleague calls and email; and the ability to work individually, within a team, and with other groups
    • Clear written and verbal communication skills
    • Bachelor’s in computer science or related field, or equivalent experience 

    Recommended Qualifications:

    • Familiarity with containers and deploying infrastructure as code
    • Advanced scripting experience
    • Strong Linux skills
    • Familiarity with log management tools/concepts and web log reporting/dashboards
    • Familiarity with various enterprise application systems
    • Familiarity with networked/distributed computing concepts, virtualization
    • Comfortable supporting a dynamic and constantly changing environment
